Today we can use plasma, this fascinating 4th state of matter, to make your tools virtually indestructible. Jürgen Lohmann laid the foundation for this when he founded GPA in 1993. A classic representative of German engineering and an inventor who developed the machine technology that is our core competence today. At its heart is the particularly simple and reliable arc evaporator technology.
Our fully automated PVD arc systems have been used for many years around the globe, in Europe, the USA and the Far East. The way in which Jürgen Lohmann has optimized and standardized his developments in terms of process technology has made us the coating professionals we are today and has allowed us to deliver the best possible PVD quality for your tools and components for many years.

GPA is a medium-sized company in which the long-term success of the company over generations counts. Our business strategy therefore prioritizes values such as experience, sustainability, effectiveness, reliability and integrity.
Thanks to our decades of experience, we have a good understanding of our customers' individual needs. We support them in using resources correctly and not wasting more time and energy than necessary. It also helps that GPA is now headed by Richard Kallee, a man who, as a former managing director in the international engine and vehicle industry, not only knows the customer perspective, but also understands the concept of lean management.
