Beautiful and good: the TiN

So cute! But don’t be fooled: The appearance is not the most important feature of the gold-colored titanium nitride. TiN is a hard material coating with the very best all-round properties: hard, smooth and versatile. It is regarded as the mother of all coatings and has, to put it bluntly, made PVD coating marketable.

By reducing the coefficient of friction and the tendency to cold welding, titanium nitride provides effective protection against wear.

In plastics processing, TiN improves the demoldability and quality of molded parts, and in medical technology it is used as a physiologically harmless, i.e. biocompatible, coating for artificial joints to increase their service life. TiN can be selectively decoated quickly and easily.
